Literature Text

Cinderella, Precious, ran on glass
She took the steps, her last
As she crawled; and stumbled
Time did drawl

It does slumber
It drags and excels
Accelerates
Propels

She covets imperfection
Something well wasted
Anything, everything
Surely full tasted

The hour pass'd
Time stood still
Yet, she moved. Free.
Darkness creep'd the sill

Romeo, Charming.
Grabbed her hand
Who is this?
To command where to stand?

Did she choose? O, she'th not!
She feared doth, and she ran
The tyrant, him.
He of Death, the Man.

It was the end o' her!
O how selfish!
Devilish, she
Atop o' her underworld

Waiting for no man
He stood. Frozen, see
Til'th she doth returned
Unwind the key

And he resumes
Oblivious; assumed
The clock striketh again
til she uses him again
And the sythe, it always strikes
Down. Sure. Beat!
And count!

Step, one two.
Step, two three
Cinderella dances
To her syncopated heart beat

And every successful man
And those claimed inferior
All went down in glory
when they chose to dance as their last

With the trembling within the ground
That is felt when Cinderella learned
Death, waited for no man
A concept scarce; understand
It just occurred to me how many of my poems are inspired by Shakespeare.

Really. It just did. And it's quite awesome now that I've realized this.

I feel quite humourous now.

This poem was inspired by a friend..... okay, somebody I work with.... in easier terms, a co-worker. But it's not like I work in an office. I'm a dishwasher and she's a line cook.

No worries!! It's all morally correct!!!!
For now.
